Changing up my temperature blanket pattern...

Hi,
If you've been following my blog, or any of my socials, you will know I'm designing the Planet Earth Temperature Blanket this year, in two versions - tapestry crochet and overlay mosaic crochet.
Last week, I was looking at where I was with the mosaic crochet version
and I decided to make some changes to the pattern. So I frogged (unravelled) the whole lot!
And I've started again...
This time I've dropped those bands of colour along the top and bottom of the pattern, and changed the edge stitches so that hopefully I don't get that slant/lean that you can get with mosaic patterns.
I've added in more of Antarctica to the pattern.
I've changed hook sizes.
And I'm trying out the continuous/clean overlay mosaic technique. Turning at the end of every two rows so that some rows are worked with the back of the project facing me - this will reduce the amount of ends needing to be weaved in when I finish the blanket!
I'll share another photo when I finish the January rows.
Jodie
